Foundational Learning
Study (FLS) is a large-scale National Assessment designed to assess foundational
literacy and numeracy (FLN) levels of Grade 3 students across India. The study
was previously conducted in March 2022 and is proposed to be conducted again in
March 2026 to track the progress over time and measure the impact of FLN
interventions under NIPUN Bharat. FLS is aligned with the National Initiative
for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) Bharat,
launched by the Ministry of Education in July 2021, which aims to ensure that
all children attain foundational skills by the end of Grade 3 by 2026–27.
The Survey was conducted for 18 Schools in Satya Sai
District and 20 Students of DIET conducted survey from 16-04-2026 to 18-06-2026
for 3 days
